I’m a Brooklyn-based book editor with a proven track record working on award-winning literary fiction and nonfiction. Previously, I worked as an associate editor at Algonquin Books, with stints at Little, Brown and Graywolf Press beforehand.
At Little, Brown and at Algonquin, I worked with and edited award-winning and bestselling authors, including Leslie Jamison, Mike Curato, Dean Spade, Tom Lin, Nathan Harris, Mariam Rahmani, Luis Alberto Urrea, David Sedaris, Jo Ann Beard, Daniel Mason, Tomas Moniz, and Jeremy Dauber.
Books that I’ve worked on have won the National Book Critics Circle Award and Carnegie Medal for Fiction, been longlisted for the Booker and National Book Awards, and recognized on lists like the New York Times 100 Notable Books. I’ve assisted on the publication of more than ten New York Times bestsellers.
As an editor, I have significant experience working on plot-driven literary fiction and am always interested when authors attempt to straddle or cross genres—such as backcountry thriller, historical or near-future horror, or westerns about race. I gravitate to projects by writers exploring contemporary issues and social dynamics from new vantages.
On the nonfiction side, I specialize in narrative nonfiction projects that explore underreported cultural phenomena or shed new light on a charged historical moment. I’ve edited self-help, travelogue, and literary memoir and I’m drawn to big ideas, poignant stories about the environment, and a wide range of current affairs.
